Unlock New Restaurant City Dishes [Playfish Game]

22 November, 2009 – 11:19 am

Last week, Playfish added two new dishes to our Restaurant City menu. One is a starter called Corn on the Cob and one Apple Pie dessert. The tricky part is that Playfish only allowed players two weeks to unlock the dishes, thereafter, the dishes will be missing from your menu IF you didn’t unlock it by leveling up at least to Level One. This was the same case with the four Restaurant City Halloween dishes. If you have unlocked them already, even for one level, they are yours to keep.

Recently, Playfish has made Restaurant City more engaging for players. I now find myself spending more time actually playing the game instead of just running the application in the background to collect Gourmet Points and Restaurant City points.

If you haven’t played Restaurant City in a while, granted, leveling up dishes could be a tad boring if you do not have enough friends, quite broke and the marketplace isn’t selling what you need, then you would be surprised to know that you can now clean the toilet, clear the dishes and fix the arcade machine. Outside of your own restaurant, you can help out at your friends’ restaurants besides the old task of clearing their trash.

All these bring you awards. For someone like me obsessed with awards, with so many new Restaurant City awards to achieve, I feel a little pressured. Hehehe!

FishVille on Facebook

16 November, 2009 – 9:35 am

FishVille, a new game by Zynga, suddenly exploded on Facebook last week, and I am sure on other social networks as well, and most of my game friends on Facebook are playing it. I just installed it this morning since these friends keep asking me to as they need more neighbours to earn more coins, experience points and to unlock items at the store that sells aquariums.

FishVille, is quite addictive, and even as a friend told me that the graphics here are ugly compared to some other fish tank games on Facebook, he continues to play it. The game concept of FishVille is very simple and I am sure most of us have already played one or two similar games on Facebook where we have to raise fishes and decorate our aquarium.

I am not sure if you noticed, fishing and the rearing of fishes are very popular games just like farming/planting. It amuses me no end that Playfish has integrated planting and fishing in Pet Society and since planting of spices and herbs are already in Restaurant City, I figure that before long, we will be rearing our own seafood to be cooked in our restaurant. But of course, Playfish will have to expand the menus to include fish that could be raised in fish tanks.

While FishVille is a simple game, what I do not like about it is that we have to log in constantly to feed our fishes or they will die. Zynga likes that, of course, but I simply can’t make time to do that and prefer games that allow me to continue from where I stopped as and when I like.
