Maggie’s Restaurant In Restaurant City

2 September, 2010 – 12:33 am

As a player of Restaurant City, one thing that I look forward to, which is a new feature in the game, is Maggie’s Restaurant. The concept is the same as Hotel City, where the first neighbour is not your friend but a “display” restaurant or hotel.

Although after playing Restaurant City for such a long time now I could afford to purchase all those decorative items from the store, I am very stingy and would prefer to save up whatever coins I have on ingredients at the market.

Even if I do feel generous enough to buy decorative items, I am never creative and would make a disaster out of my restaurant. You know, I have unlocked all the layouts already, I think there are five different restaurant layouts that we could decorate but I have only ever decorated the first restaurant. I know, I’m hopeless!

Levelling Up All Restaurant City Dishes

30 August, 2010 – 2:18 pm

Off hand, I don’t really remember how long I have played Restaurant City. Probably 1+ years already though I remember taking a break from the game because there was nothing interesting to do anymore, until many more features were added to the game recently, for example the lounge and bowling alley.

Anyway, after such a long time playing the game, it was only recently that I started to be serious in levelling up ALL the dishes in Restaurant City even though it was these past few months that new dishes are added to the menu every week.

Although I have a more than 500 Restaurant City neighbours, only a handful play of friend splay the game diligently. The rest have installed the game but have forgotten to log in, some even totally forgot about the game, so it was not easy for me to trade ingredients with friends.

So it’s only recently that I managed to level up ALL my dishes in Restaurant City; some of them almost as soon as the new ones are released. This is because I have a friend who helps me out and trade tens of ingredients with me at a time. I am so tempted to just take the easy way out by trading with her without any effort of my own in levelling since she has more than 600 of the same ingredients for most of the ingredients. Tell me you are not tempted! Still, congratulations to ME! :)

Bye Bye Bangkok (Mafia Wars Game on Facebook)

27 August, 2010 – 8:47 pm

I am so happy to share that I am over and done with Bangkok in mafia Wars on Facebook. Dang! The city is so very expensive, if you haven’t finished it yet, let me tell you that you would need millions and millions of Baht! All those envelopes of cash don’t really help when they just give you a few hundred Bath each.

You probably couldn’t imagine the Energy I spent on doing jobs in Bangkok repetitively even though I have already mastered the jobs just so that I could get the most cash in the shortest period of time. And let’s not even talk about the tens of Reward Points I spent buying cash in Bangkok.

Do you think that I was wasteful in my quest to complete Bangkok? Well, I don’t know why I am so impatient with the game. I just felt that I have to finish the city before a new one is introduced so that I could concentrate my Health, Energy and Stamina there.

Even for Las Vegas, I have already completed three out of six Districts. Call me mad…

Forensic Accountants Needed In MW Vegas

26 August, 2010 – 4:42 pm

One thing I do not like about Mafia Wars is the amount of money we lose when we are fought. The other day, as I was busy with the Feds and Vegas Bosses, where I had to refill my Health to maximum a few times in order to defeat them, I lost a total of V$3,500,000 when people fought me behind my back.

Back then, I only had a one-star vault and I could only keep a maximum of V$100,000 in it. I complained to a friend, a fellow player, and told that at this rate, I would need to bring in Forths Forensic Accountants to see how to safeguard my cash or else I would not have enough to buy weapons to unlock the game further and hence, unable to proceed with the other Vegas Districts.

My friend said that it’s not that serious to have to bring in Forensic Accountants and all I had to do was just to upgrade my vault. If you play the game also, you would know that building the vault and the various properties in Vegas is entirely different from acquiring properties in the other cities which could be done with cash. Vegas properties and the vault are like New York Chop Shops where you would need the help of friends to help with your requests.

That same night, this friend sent me over a hundred items to enable me to level up my vault and it shot up from a one-star vault to five stars. See the image that I have enclosed, it’s a golden vault now and keeps up to V$50,000,000. With such a huge vault, I keep my cash away every time I have some to spare so that I know where my money goes now. Forensic Accountants are no longer necessary.

Facebook Game: Mafia Wars District 6

25 August, 2010 – 6:02 pm

Mafia Wars District 6 opened not too long ago and I am now half way through the District: The Upper Strip. I have to say that I really pity players who are of lower levels who do not have such high Stamina levels to play in Vegas because all these Districts take up too much Stamina and then we had to Beat the Feds recently, which would have impeded the progress here in Vegas. Did you know that if you don’t finish your fights and social categories, even if you have completed all the Energy jobs, you cannot progress to the next level?

I think it’s pretty unfair but then I have to admit that if not for the Fed and the extremely tough Vegas bosses, I would not have placed as much emphasis on beefing up my Health and Stamina, which I had to do since not many family members are willing to spare their Stamina too. Don’t you hate those people who would click on “Help” and then back out without inflicting any damage on the bosses just so that they could get a bonus when you win the Boss fight?

Mafia Wars [Facebook] Mumbai Challenge: Make A Killing At The Box Office

21 August, 2010 – 1:33 pm

Mafia Wars is going to Mumbai, India. Yes, in less than two days’ time, Mumbai Challenge will begin. Not only will you need a lot of energy, you will also need plenty of consumables, which is in the form of Bollywood Film Reels.

As with all Challenges, you would have to add new members to your Mafia family. With each family member, you would be able to “harvest” consumables which means that the more new Mafia family members you have, the more consumables (Bollywood Film Reels) you would be able to harvest.

As usual, the Challenge will be separated into three weeks of play. Completion of each Chapter (one per week) will gain you premium rewards, the most valuable one in terms of statistics is the one from the third week.

Although I failed to complete the first Challenge due to technical glitch, I was able to complete all the other subsequent Challenges only because in the final lap, I would just do the jobs even though the bar showed red. I didn’t even care if I had to spend more energy points or consumables. I would have extra by the end of it, anyway.

If you are playing Mafia Wars, perhaps we can be family.

How To Beat The Feds (and also Vegas Bosses)

18 August, 2010 – 1:25 pm

At first I thought that Feds and Vegas Bosses are really tough and I could never complete these fights if I don’t beef up my Health but having extremely high Health points is really a bad idea because even before you could expand them, you would be beaten and your money will be stolen. You wouldn’t believe the millions I lost in Vegas cash over these couple of days.

So you really don’t need to have a lot of Health or even boosts or friends but you do need a lot, and I mean A LOT, of Stamina to fight the Feds and Vegas Bosses and also to complete the “Fight” jobs in Vegas that could need more than 100 Stamina each time and it would only progress 1 to 5% each time!

Less than two days Beat the Feds was introduced, I received my Rain Maker already which gives a bonus of +5% Vegas cash. It comes in handy after getting a huge chunk of my money stolen all because my vault isn’t large enough. Luckily, I still have 80+ racks of chips that I have yet to cash out.

So anyway, each time you fight the Feds, fight until your health drop down to 0. Then heal yourself in Cuba or Moscow or whichever city that you have already completed by going to Hospital. Then you can challenge the Feds (and Vegas Bosses) again. The health will remain low as they wouldn’t have time to rejuvenate yet.

For the Feds in the Gold mastery level, each hit you give out will require 8 Stamina points but for Vegas Bosses, you will only be required to spend 15 or 20 Stamina points each attempt to take on them even at Ruby mastery.

When I was fighting the Feds, there were only a couple of friends who tried to help me each time. I understand that everyone was conserving their own Stamina for their own fights with the Feds. I don’t begrudge them but in order to defeat the Feds within the stipulated time frame, I had to buy three rounds of Stamina refill with Reward Points. I was lucky that there was a sale and I “only” had to pay 8 Reward Points each time, instead of the usual 10.

I know that I could have waited for a better time to take on the Feds but I am someone who likes to get things over and done with as quickly as possible. LOL
