Perak DAP Voters Sold Out

5 February, 2009 – 12:28 pm

So what else is new? Voters are always being played by politicians who forget that voters were the ones who elected them as representatives of the people and we could bring them down just as well.

While idealistic people would think that having Pakatan Rakyat for Bangsa Malaysia would mark the beginning of a change, it was not to be here in Perak because of self-interests. Politicians are human beings too and whatever calculated move they make, they think of their own benefits FIRST and foremost, from the top to the bottom rung of politicians. The dirtier one is, the better one could survive politically.

I am not surprised that Perak Pakatan Rakyat government collapsed like it did because it has always been on shaky ground from day one. For one, the MB was only appointed as the MB because of state constitution and not by popular vote.

Secondly, quite a handful of elected representatives became power crazy and ruled the State like it was their grandfather’s. Just look at how they fought for State positions, Exco and what not. Look how they fought for a share of the State pie.

I am not surprised like I am not surprised that the Federal Government shuts off Federal aid to states that fell to the “opposition”. This was a consequence that the Rakyat was willing to take, only to give new people a chance to rule. In fact, tin revenue from Perak was used to build Kuala Lumpur, so what has changed?

Change? Perak cannot. It’s back to square one after an interval of ten months.
