Mafia Wars Beat the Feds

Saturday, Zynga introduced “Beat the Feds” on Mafia Wars in Facebook where players have to fight four New York bosses three rounds to gain a special bonus. As you can see from the screen shot, I am almost done. Almost, but it is just so tough because in the Gold Mastery level, each hit requires 8 stamina points and we only have about four or five hours to defeat the boss. You would have to buy Stamina refill with 10 Reward Points, 8 if there is a sale, and continue with the fight.

I “heal” myself all the time with Cuban Pesos and there was once that I had to start all over again because nobody was willing to help. I guess everyone was conserving Stamina for their own boss fights too but then the top five helpers will receive the same loot as the winner so it’s not in vain.

Once I am done with my own Boss fights, of course I will help out my Mafia family but not yet. I still have the last Boss to fight to get the coveted loot that only those who beat the four Bosses three times will receive.

Arghh… I need a lot more Stamina. You know the Help or Sabotage Crime Spree? Helping each person can get you 40 Stamina points up to a maximum of 200 points a day.

Restaurant City Coins Hack

A friend, who plays Restaurant City on Facebook, told me that there is one person on her Facebook list of friends who has been generating “award bonus” links for her and other Restaurant City players which allow them to collect 5000 coins per link. If you play the game, you would know that every player is allowed to collect up to twenty freebies a day whether they are award bonuses, ingredients or Gourmet King freebies.

This has been going on since May this year, so imagine if someone has been collecting such free award bonuses which gives out 5000 coins each time, this person would have been richer by 9 million coins already. Imagine that!

Now, I am not faulting anyone who plays the game with coins or ingredient hacks. To each his own, you know? After all, as my friend says, it’s just a game. No big deal but I do wonder how one could generate such links for reward bonuses and ingredients!

Arithmetic Challenge Spam

A friend who is on my Facebook friend’s list installed and played Arithmetic Challenge yesterday. To his and our chagrin, the game not only posted many game alerts on our newsfeed and his wall, it also posted a lot of irrelevant advertisements, spamming not only him but all his friends.

According to my friend, whom I shall not name, Arithmetic Challenge is the culprit and even he did not know that the ads were posted under his profile. He only came to know about it when a mutual friend told him to stop posting the ads as they were spammy.

This friend has since removed the game application from his account so hopefully, the spam will stop. I don’t know what he clicked that he shouldn’t clicked that allowed the application to post alerts automatically but I still think it’s pretty unscrupulous that the application is posting highly irrelevant links on the profiles of players!

Mafia Wars Sweepstakes

Mafia Wars Fight Mastery

Logging in to Mafia Wars this morning, I noted that we now have this thing called “Fight Mastery” on the Fight page. While I really enjoy Mafia Wars and this is only one of the handful of open ended text based games that I am willing to play, just thinking that after fighting thousands of fights since playing the game more than a year ago, I now have to start to master” fights from the bottom up just like everyone else.

Argh… why doesn’t Zynga give us a head start based on our fighting stats? If we have already fought and won 10,000 fights (in Cuba, that would have given us an achievement), then we should at least be in Level 3 mastery already, for example. And then lets not forget the fights we fought in New York, Moscow, Bangkok and even Las Vegas!

According to my stats on my Mafia Wars profile, the number of fights won is 121572. I know this isn’t a lot compared to other players of higher levels but then 121K is a lot of fights and surely they do count in some level of mastery, right?
