Earth Hour 2009
22 March, 2009 – 12:34 amI did not even remember about Earth Hour until a friend sent me a group invitation on Facebook. Of course, I read about Earth Hour when it was first initiated by World Wide Fund for Nature aka World Wildlife Fund or WWF in short back in 2007 but I didn’t remember that it’s held annually on the last Saturday of March. Why this day in particular? Does anyone know?

Anyway, on the last Saturday of March, this year it falls on 28th March, 2009, where ever you are in the world, to show your support for Earth Hour and to create awareness towards climate change, you are supposed to turn off your lights and electrical appliances for one hour starting from 8.30pm your time.
Frankly, while I support the cause, I am not sure if I could do this. After all, I do need the computer to work and if you know me, I work almost around the clock and normally have the computer switched on and connected to the internet 24/7. Well, perhaps writing about Earth Hour and creating awareness of Earth Hour and its importance through my blog, I am already contributing to the cause!
