All Those Cheap Air Tickets

Those cheap air tickets thanks to competition between Air Asia and MAS are making me wanna go on vacation. I haven’t been on one for the longest time. Why? Not because I am strapped for time, not because I could not spare the money. To find out why, the clue is in my About page.

But now with all the cheap tickets, I still can’t leave because of some other commitments. I have a heavy sense of responsibility, too heavy for my own good, I sometimes think.

I seriously cannot remember when the last time I left home for longer than 24 hours was. I cannot remember when the last time I went out of Perak was. I do remember, though, that the last time I “travelled”, I went to Penang; just crossed the Penang bridge over to Minden Heights because there was something important to do. And that trip did not even take me more than six hours. Yes, that was fleeting.

I miss my shopping trips to Penang and Kuala Lumpur. I miss eating along Gurney Drive over the weekends. I miss just looking out of my hotel room over a new town at sunrise. *deep sigh*

I think that I could only go away in another year or two but I know that the longer I am here, the farther I wanna go and I may not even wanna come back.
